Adsense experiment part 2

Well, the reason I did part one, for those of you who find don't find it obvious, is that I needed to know the amount of text and the diversity that google's adsense needs to actually display relevant ads. The following text will be a copy & paste of a wikipedia article, please try to go into this entry's individual page to maximize results.

Cricket is a team sport usually played between two teams of eleven players each. It is a bat-and-ball game played on a roughly elliptical grass field, in the centre of which is a flat strip of ground 20.12 m (22 yards) long, called a pitch. At each end of the pitch is a set of wooden stumps, called a wicket. Note that, rather confusingly, the pitch itself is also often referred to as the wicket. A player from the fielding team (the bowler) propels a hard, fist-sized cork-centred leather ball from one wicket towards the other. The ball usually bounces once before reaching a player from the opposing team (the batsman), who defends the wicket from the ball with a wooden cricket bat. Another batsman (the "non-striker") stands in an inactive role near the bowler's wicket.

Generally, the batsman attempts to strike the ball with the bat and run to the other end of the pitch, exchanging places with his partner, scoring a run. However, he can attempt to run without hitting the ball, and vice versa. While the batting team scores as many runs as it can, the bowling team returns the ball to either wicket. If the ball strikes a wicket with enough force to knock a bail off before the batsman nearer to that wicket has reached safety, then the batsman is out, or "dismissed" - this is also known as a wicket. The batsman can also be out in a number of other ways, such as failing to stop the bowled ball from knocking the bails off, or if a fielder catches the ball before it touches the ground. Once the batsmen are not attempting to score any more runs, the ball is "dead" and is bowled again.

Once out, a batsman is replaced by the next batsman in the team. As there must always be two batsmen on the field, the team's innings ends when ten batsmen are out, and the teams exchange roles. The number of innings, and possible restrictions on the number of balls in each, depend on the type of game played. At the end of the match—of which there are several definitions—the team that has scored more runs wins. In first-class cricket, a draw can result if the team to bat last fails to match the required total before a time limit is reached or if the bowling teams fails to take 10 wickets. This can add interest to one-sided games by giving the team in the worse position an incentive to play for a draw. This is distinct from a tie, which results if scores are level at the completion of both teams' innings.

Cricket has been an established team sport for several centuries. It originated in its modern form in England and is popular mainly in the present and former members of the Commonwealth. In some countries in South Asia, including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, cricket is by far the most popular sport. Cricket is also a major sport in England and Wales, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe and the English-speaking countries of the Caribbean, which are collectively known in cricketing parlance as the West Indies. There are also well established amateur club competitions in countries as diverse as the Netherlands, Kenya, Nepal, and Argentina (see also: International Cricket Council).

The length of the game — a match can last six or more hours a day for up to five days in one form of the game — the numerous intervals for lunch and tea and the rich terminology are notable aspects that can often confuse those not familiar with the sport. For its fans, the sport and the intense rivalries between top cricketing nations provide passionate entertainment and outstanding sporting achievements. It has even occasionally given rise to diplomatic outrage, the most notorious being the Basil D'Oliveira affair which led to the banning of South Africa from sporting events. Other examples include the Bodyline series played between England and Australia in the early 1930s, an event that almost meant diplomatic ties were severed with England or the 1981 underarm bowling incident involving Australia and New Zealand.

Adbrite...

Just found about this amazing content ads service. Again it does give the same type of ads that Google Adsense would give you, but you get to customize what type of ads are showing in your poge.

What makes Adbrite better is that they don't check your site for keywords, but instead they ask you what type of ads would you want to show, and what type of products will your readers buy, now that is quality advertising in my opinion.

The only problem with Adbrite is that they don't show the ads immediately, you have to wait 1 or 2 days, but trust me, it's worth it. By the way, they pay better, and ask you what is the minimum they can send you on the check.

Position your ads!

A recent study has determined where people look first when browsing. I forgot to bookmark the page so please forgive me for not linking to the site with the info. Anyway, I'll explain the results right now...

Imagine a 4x4 square, now think that it represents what your browser is showing. Now imagine each lx1 square in your big square is a respective area of the page you are viewing. If we imagined it well, we should have a big square divided in 16 small squares.

Now, take the 2x2 area on the top leftof your square and mark it as the red zone. Take the squares that surround the red zone and mark it as the yellow zone. Now take the rest of the squares and mark them as the blue zone.

You should have already noticed what I mean, but in case you didn't I'll put it down in a very simple terminology: Red = good, blue = bad.

Got it? Good, Visitors watch the red area more often than the blue area, so for you bloggers, usually your ads are placed on right, aren't they? Change it, left top is good. Right is bad, bottom is bad...

Remember, exposure means clicks!

Blog Explosion: boost your traffic!

Recently I found from another blog a site called blog explosion. I am still waiting for confirmation on my blogs, which should be done by tomorrow, but what I have seen from the site is amazing.

They have a system that gives you points for browsing their members' blogs, and those points can be used for a lot of things like renting your blog, buying banner ad space and buying traffic. They also have blog contests in which you can enter and earn some more points, or simply get notices by the voters.

The amazing thing is that all the publicity you get is FREE, completely managed by points, and you get to have banners on a site with heavy traffic, everything by just browsing blogs...

Now that is a heck of deal isn't it?

About this blog's purpose...

I posted the blog in a blogger forum... got responses from a guy that wanted to point out the this blog wouldn't be getting much revenue from the ads I have... Please notice that I do not intend to gain revenue from this blog. The Ads are there because I wanted to fill up space, but I do not care how much money they generate. Once I get a big blog roll, the ads are gone... I do have other blogs that may be able to gain me some revenue, but as I am just starting in the business, I don't expect much from them either. Only time will tell...

Well people, I will be posting more money making methods soon! Take care!

Unthemed blog is good!

We all know how we get money by blogging, and that is people clicking on ads. But, have we ever wondered how are these people willing to click on those ads? We have read them and each one sounds more stupid than the other, I wouldn't click that ad in a million years.

Well, you know who would, the average, low IQ, blog browsing person that would click on any ad that takes their attention. You know them, they are all around you, your best friend coud be that person. You should know that these people are in a great percentage women. You have to take that information to your advantage.

When deciding to do a blog for money, think about what theme will it have. Now think again. Now really think it. Got it clear? Good. Discard it. It's no use to make a specific theme on a blog. These blogs are aimed at people who know what they are reading, and read your blog because they are interested in that subject.

People that know about the subject are not stupid enough to click on adsense or other targeted ads. They aren't fooled so easily. People would click on ads that show them things that they don't understand completely, and they want to learn more, or are just curious.

So the best solution to this is... blog about nothing. Nothing special, just do a blog in which you write about meaningless stuff. Just your thoughts, some cool news, stupid stuff, funny stuff, etc.

Remember to keep it varied so you have the great majority of low IQ female blog browsers interested, and your targeted ads will be really varied, catching the attention of more people.

And I just realised that today....

Have fun! Comment! Blog away!
